tsaddîyq — just, lawful, righteous

Genesis 6:9 — “This is the line of Noah.—Noah was a righteous man; he was blameless in his age; Noah walked with God.—”

Genesis 7:1 — “Then GOD said to Noah, “Go into the ark, with all your household, for you alone have I found righteous before Me in this generation.”

Genesis 18:23 — “Abraham came forward and said, “Will You sweep away the innocent along with the guilty?”

Genesis 18:25 — “Far be it from You to do such a thing, to bring death upon the innocent as well as the guilty, so that innocent and guilty fare alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?””

Genesis 20:4 — “Now Abimelech had not approached her. He said, “O my Sovereign, will You slay people even though innocent?”
